Autumn School of Theosophy
Theme: Our Origins and Destiny – based on The Secret Doctrine
Director of Studies: Elena Dovalsantos
Starting on Friday 13 April at 7.30pm, finishing on Wednesday 18 April at 3pm
When H.P. Blavatsky published The Secret Doctrine (SD) in 1888, she brought to the western world the wisdom teachings of seers throughout the ages. More than a century since its release, its account of the birth of the cosmos is starting to align with some new theories in science. However, the story of human evolution as told in the SD is still akin to the stuff of legends. Fascinating and intriguing, it challenges modern day beliefs and hypotheses while drawing clues from contemporary science, the major religions and mythology to verify its claims.
In these sessions, we will take a bird’s eye view of the vast panorama of evolution with emphasis on the development of human life on earth. We will explore some fundamental concepts of esoteric philosophy and find answers to the age old questions of where we came from, how we got here, where we are going, why things are the way they are, and the purpose of existence. Only by realising the answers to these questions can we truly understand ourselves, achieve true transformation and shape our own destines.
