To awaken compassion within ourselves, to see the world with eyes of love and to respect all life is all a part of living a spiritual life.

John Vorstermans is the National President of the Theosophical Society in New Zealand and Past-President of the Indo-Pacific Federation of the TS, Past President of Wellington Branch and Auckland HPB Lodge. John has a deep interest in the ageless wisdom tradition and over recent times John has focused on transformative processes that help people to understand themselves to help create change in their lives. Professionally, John has been self-employed and a director in several companies over the last 40 years, including other not-for-profit organisations.

Renee is currently in the National Vice President role of the NZ Section and the National Coordinator of the TOS. She has been involved in different capacities over the years both locally at Auckland Branch and National Section including speaking, events and administration. She has a real passion for weaving the Ancient Wisdom teachings into her everyday life, and has a special interest in seeing the Theosophical Teachings presented in a more practical and usable way so as to make us look at ourselves and our behavioural patterns in an educative light.

The Programme
The Wellington Branch is hosting the January Convention 2021 of the Theosophy in New Zealand at a delightful venue in Island Bay with a lively, relevant programme and a variety of interesting speakers.
The TSNZ Convention programme includes:
- Speakers from throughout the country including the National President, John Vorstermans and Vice-President, Renee Sell as well as popular National Speakers, Murray Stentiford and the Wellington President Sushma Webber
- Presentation from International President Tim Boyd (please note this is pre-recorded)
- Q&A session with International President Tim Boyd (this will be live)
- Theosophical Order of Service (TOS) update presentation
- Morning meditation/attunements
- Wellington outing option
- Final evening entertainment
- and much more..
All are part of the TSNZ Conventiom 2021 experience.
Local Seakers
Murray Stentiford, National Speaker and facilitator with the TSNZ has a wide knowledge of spiritual, scientific and social issues. He is able to draw on the experience in dynamic presentations that bring the light of the Timeless Wisdom to bear on life in the world today. Murray has held several positions of responsibility in TSNZ over the years. He has a Master's degree in Physics and is an accomplished musician. Murray sees Theosophy as a magnificent framwork which relates to every facet of human existence.

Sushma Webber first visited Sri Ramanashramam at the age of five. She has been inspired by Ramana Maharishi's teachings, adding the dimension of silence to her study of Theosophical litrature. Sushma is originally from India but has lived in New Zealand since 2008. She has a Master's degree in Art History and is President of the Wellington Branch.

Note that cancellation at short notice is possible due to Covid-19.
Please Note: The venue has a limit of accommodation which is now full for convention 2021. You may still book accommodation and we will organise a motel for you with shared accommodation. A morning shuttle will be available to the venue each morning and returning in the evening. If you wish to book only specific nights for the convention then we will arrange a motel for you to stay at close to the venue. Lunch and Dinner at the venue can be as booked part of the registration process below.
