Following the National Convention 2016 of the Theosophical Society in New Zealand, both members and the public will have the opportunity to participate in a Three-day seminar on The Process of Self-Transformation with Victor Peñaranda, from the Philippines, who is also the Key Speaker at the Convention 2016 along with New Zealand facilitators:

Victor Peñaranda is Trustee and Vice-President of the Theosophical Society in the Philippines and coordinates the Section's Lodge/Branch development and training activities. He is also an experienced trainer-facilitator of the Self-Transformation Seminar.

Victor has worked as a journalist and as a capacity-builder on community development and governance in the Philippines, the Kingdom of Bhutan and the Republic of Macedonia. He has written and published three collections of poetry. Victor and his Theosophist wife have three children.

What You Will Learn at the Seminar:

The Process of Self-Transformation Seminar is a comprehensive process of personal and spiritual growth that aims to help you:

• Review your understanding of reality
• Clarify your core and personal values
• Learn self-awareness
• Eliminate recurring emotional distress in your life, such as fear, depression, anger, phobias, stress, trauma, hurt, etc.
• Be effective in your interpersonal relationships through genuine listening and effective communication
• Be free of unwanted conditionings
• Take control over your own destiny
• See beyond the surface appearance of things and events
• Strengthen the higher self and control the lower self
• Learn the art of meditation
• Systematically pursue the path of the spiritual life.

The seminar has been conducted in various countries, such as Australia, India, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Bangladesh.  It has been conducted to the faculties, administrative officers and students of many schools, colleges and universities.

The Self-Transformation Program is a non-commercial, non-profit service of the Philippine Theosophical Institute.

A Brief History

A significant program of the Philippines Section of the Theosophical Society was launched in 1996 called the Self-Transformation Seminar.  It was at first intended to help the integration and deepening of the spiritual life of members, however, groups outside of the Theosophical Society became interested in it and it eventually became a very active public program of the Section, serving the needs of universities, government agencies, civic organizations, the military and the general public.

By the year 2003 the Seminar had been conducted in more than ten countries, including United States, England, India, Australia, Pakistan and Singapore, with facilitators trained in three countries. As an offshoot of the Seminar, the Section organized the Golden Link Youth Organization, intended to promote character integration among young people.

The project led to significant observable changes among young people who were part of it. This led to the establishment of the Golden Link School in June, 2002, designed to incorporate this character program into the formal school curriculum for primary and secondary school levels. This became the fourth school of the Section, the others being Sunshine Montessori Learning Center, TOS Learning Center, and Besant School in Bacolod. (source: Theosopedia)

The Process of Self-Transformation Seminar, Napier, 2015

A Self-Transformation Seminar with Vic Hao Chin, Philippines, was held earlier this year after the Convention 2015 and it was a great success. There were participants from all over New Zealand and also a few from Australia.
