Theosophical Society Central Region Workshop

Theosophical Society Central Region Workshop 2025

Exploring Latent Human Potential

Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th September, New Plymouth

On Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 September, The Theosophical Society Central Region Workshop will take place in New Plymouth, hosted by the New Plymouth Branch of the Theosophical Society.

There will be speakers from throughout the Central Region - including the Wellington, Palmerston North and New Plymouth branches, as well as the TS National President and and the Chair of the Governance Board - all speaking to the theme Exploring Latent Human Potential. There will be allocated time for questions and discussion after each presentation, and the workshop will conclude with a panel discussion to answer questions exploring the theme and the presentations.

This is a great chance for members in the central region to meet and connect with people from other branches.

DATE & TIME

Open: Saturday 27 September 12.00pm

Close: Sunday 28 September 1.00pm

VENUE

Jan Gargan's Retreat Room, Beach Road Extension, Omata, New Plymouth.

This is in a delightful rural setting overlooking the sea with views to Paritutu, which, weather-permitting, will allow a chance for short walks in the breaks.

Getting there: Beach Road Extension is a metalled road that comes off the main part of Beach Road where it becomes Centennial Drive.

If coming from central New Plymouth, go along St Aubyn St west towards the port, turn left at Ngamotu Rd and immediately turn right onto Centennial Drive, follow that for about 4km then it's an acute turn right into Beach Road Extension, and follow it to the end. Parking is available on the site.

MEALS

Vegetarian meals will be provided—light lunches on both days, dinner on Saturday night, along with morning & afternoon teas. We can’t specifically cater for every type of dietary requirement or tolerance, so please make your own arrangements if this applies to you. (There will be a fridge available). Food will be labelled with ingredient lists.
(Please note: the event is meat, alcohol, and smoke-free.)

REGISTRATION

Registrations will be limited to 25 to suit the size of the venue.

These will open for TS members first, followed by public, and will be on first come first served basis until 25 is reached or a cut-off date roughly a week before the event. (You will not be able to register on the day.) So that the maximum number of people can enjoy it, registrants need to attend the whole event.

Registration form is online - click this link: https://forms.gle/tJ7D95STC3x9CpQ46

Registration fee for the weekend is $50 for TS members and $60 for members of the public. (For invited speakers a registration fee is optional.)

Once you have filled in the form, please pay the appropriate amount to:

New Plymouth Branch of the Theosophical Society
Account No. 15-3944-0098985-00.

In the fields please include your SURNAME and REG.

(In the event of too many registrations, priority will be given to registering those who have paid first, and full refunds will be available to those who have registered and paid but numbers are over-subscribed.)

TRAVEL & ACCOMMODATION

You will need to make your own arrangements, but there is a small car-pooling allowance in the budget to distribute among TS members driving from out of town. For those in Whanganui or Palmerston North, please check first about car-pooling with the speakers from those regions or other members who may be driving.
